Richard specializes in the valuation, value planning, and sale of “mid-sized” businesses. In addition, he personally supervises strategic acquisition searches for selected client corporations. Richard has been and continues to be an active member on the boards of directors of a number of closely-held businesses. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from his personal ownership of manufacturing businesses over the years, has varied direct management responsibilities in public companies and private enterprises, and has advisory experiences in start-up companies, turn-around situations, and transactional management.
Richard holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Prior to starting Management Services & Development, Ltd. in 1979, he served in engineering and financial management positions for several fortune five-hundred corporations, and owned and operated three manufacturing businesses. In addition, he has taught at Wentworth College, Rollins College, and IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), as well as for the IBBA, the largest international organization of business intermediaries. Richard also has historically held certification during his long career as follows: Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) from the Institute of Business Appraisers, and Certified Business Intermediary from the International Business Brokers Association.
