Who is Richard Mowrey?

Richard Mowrey is President of Management Services & Development, Ltd., a firm which provides private ownership transition advisory services to closely-held businesses. Richard is the worlds easiest professional advisor for a business owner to work with on complex valuation and business sale issues. He gets the job done quickly and quietly to meet the objectives established by the business owner.

Richard specializes in the valuation, value planning, and sale of “mid-sized” businesses. In addition, he personally supervises strategic acquisition searches for selected client corporations. Richard has been and continues to be an active member of the board of directors of a number of close-held business. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from his personal ownership of manufacturing businesses over the years, has varied direct management responsibilities in public companies and private enterprises, and has advisory experiences in start-up companies, turn-around situations, and tranactional management.

Richard holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Prior to starting Management Services & Development, Ltd. in 1979, he served as in engineering and financial managment positions for several fortune five-hundred corporations, and owned and operated three manufacturing businesses. In addition, he has taught at Wentworth College, Rollins College, and IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), as well as for the IBBA, the largest international organization of business intermediaries. Richard also holds certification as follows: Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) from the Institute of Business Appraisers, and Certified Business Intermediary from the International Business Brokers Association.
